“I’m so glad I live in
a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from
September to November, wouldn’t it? Look at these maple branches. Don’t they
give you a thrill–several thrills?”
~ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
My October: Writing, Baseball and … well, you’ll see.
On Writing: Starting a Book-in-a-Week today with my local RWA chapter so that’s where I’m headed. Although it’s a gorgeous fall day today with temps in the high 60’s so I’ll do a bit of that writing in my notebook while I sit on the front porch swing. What are your writing plans this weekend?
On Baseball: I love baseball. And over the years I was able to coax the Engineer into liking it also. I think living in Arizona for five years and going to games within their “Cactus League” helped win him over. We usually watch the playoffs and the World Series no matter who is in it. But this year we are really, really enjoying the playoffs. Any of you catch the first two games in the Baltimore/Detroit playoff series? Wow! So great if you’re an Orioles fan. Which I am. I’m an official Woo-girl when it comes to the Orioles. Great come from behind wins and some amazing defensive plays in both the outfield and infield. And their stolen bases? Get out! So. Much. Fun. Unless you’re a Detroit fan, in which case, I’m sorry.
On Life: This is happening:
Yep. We’re getting a puppy. Here is our girl with her mama. Our other three dogs came from the pound. But we really love the Golden personality and while we were lucky as all heck to get Bella from the pound ten years ago (Golden/Chow mix) there were no Golden’s to be found this time around. I have about three weeks to puppy-proof the house. Yikes!
