It’s an offshoot of one of our Nandina plants from the garden. It got yanked out last fall when the gas line was run to the house and she’s just been hanging around outside in a pot like a little homeless waif. Looking at me every time I walked by with Harley. Sad. Pitiful. Lonely. So I adopted her and moved her down to my writing space.
At first I thought she needed me, but now I’ve figured out I needed her. She reminds me of Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy and makes me smile when I look at her. I’ve named her Penelope. (A Penny saved.) Do I know if you can grow a Nandina as an indoor houseplant? Nope. The lack of info on the Internet would indicate probably not. But I’m going to try.
Wait. I know what you’re thinking. Yes, it’s true that in my last post I confessed to my bad luck with plants. I solemnly promise that no baby Nandina plants will be hurt in the making of this happy writing space. If it starts looking like it isn’t working, I’ll transplant her outside.
On Writing: I’m plotting a new project today. Still deciding on plot points and story lines. Always fun and guilt inducing at the same time. You know when you’re staring off into space and your husband or kid walks by and says, “I thought you were working…” (A Penny for your thoughts.) I am, I really am!
Odds & Ends: I’m still working on my fitness goal, but I removed my countdown widget on the side due to the increased loading time for the blog. (It got too annoying for my impatient soul.) Although the rain is making it challenging, Harley and I are still walking and she keeps me company while I lift weights in the basement.
So that’s me. What are you up to? Wishing you a creative and productive week!
