Rounding Up Plot Bunnies

“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.” ~ Stephen King
On Writing Inspiration: I’ve had this song running through my head for a few days. And the more I listen to it the more a Hero is taking shape in my mind. I’m not ready for a new Hero to step forward yet as I’m still working on revisions of one book and beginning plotting a related novella for the series too. So this Hero will just have to relax, hang out for a little while while. Maybe I’ll park him in the corner of my office with the baseball playoffs. (Please tell me y’all saw the Royals/Athletics Wild Card game the other night?! Amazing game and the Royals aren’t even my team. The Royals won it in the 12th and tied a record with 7 stolen bases! So fun!)

On Where Ideas Come From: Where do you get your ideas? What’s a sure-fire way to get those plot bunnies hopping? Most of my ideas come to me when I’m reading an article about some real life situation and then my mind starts reshaping it with “What if” questions. Once I have an idea, I’d say music plays a big role for me in helping me hone in on who my characters are. So, what are your “go-to” methods when coming up with ideas?
